Understanding C-DAC's PG Diploma Admission Process: Counselling and Seat Allocation
C-DAC's PG Diploma admission process is a complex process that involves two counselling sessions and three rounds of seat allocations. It is essential to understand the process thoroughly to ensure you make the right choices.
1. During the counselling stage, candidates need to fill in their preferences for courses and training centres online. Based on the course-centre preferences given by the candidates during the first choice filling, two rounds of seat allocations are done.
First Cap Round :- (Round 1 & Round 2)
2. Candidates are allocated seats strictly based on the order of preferences of courses and centres given by them during the counselling, depending on their C-CAT ranks(Note:- Always give 1st prefrences to good centres/institues).
3. If a candidate's rank is not good enough to get them their top preferences in the first round of seat allocations, they may be offered their lower preferred courses/centres depending on their ranks.
4. If candidates get their first preference in the first round of seat allocation itself, that will be their final allocated seat, and there will be no change for them in the second round of seat allocations. The seats allocated in the second round are final, and there will be no further change in them.
5. In case a candidate has not been able to secure admission, they are given one last chance to fill their preferences of courses and training centres during the second counselling session.
6. This is scheduled after the payment of the first installment fee of the second round of seat allocation. The third round of seat allocation is based on the second counselling.
7. It is important to note that during both the counselling sessions, candidates will only be permitted to give preferences for courses belonging to the category they had selected in the C-CAT application form. However, a candidate can give as many preferences of training centres and courses belonging to the applied C-CAT category.
8. Admissions to various courses at different training centres are offered based on the C-CAT ranks in the order of preferences of courses and centres given by the candidate and the number of seats available for the courses at the particular centres.
9. Therefore, candidates must take utmost care while filling the order of preference of the courses and centres. Under any circumstance, a candidate will not be allocated another course/centre which was not given as a preference during the counselling stage.
10. In conclusion, understanding the C-DAC's PG Diploma admission process is crucial to make informed choices during the counselling stage. Candidates must take the utmost care while filling their preferences for courses and training centres to secure their desired seat.
To be summarized above points.
1. After your CDAC-CCAT exam result you have to fill your first cap/counselling round. Give Higher prefrences to the top centre/institutes.
2. Fill your first Cap/Counselling round very carefully, Because once you fill your first Counselling/ Cap round you won't be able to change in second round.
3. Once result out for First cap/counselling round you have to pay your first installment (i.e Rs 10,000/- + GST) it is compulsory to pay first installment after first cap round, you can pay installment online also.
4. Then automatically you will undergo second round, you no need to do anything. Just you have to fill first cap round very carefully. (Note :- A candidate cannot join a lower preferred choice if he/she is allocated a higher preference in any round of seat allocation.)
For example:- If you got Rank A = 2636
Rank A+B = 346
If you have given the below preference in your first CAP/counselling round:
1. ACTS Pune
2. Sunbeam Pune
3. IACSD Pune
4. Sunbeam Karad
-> If you allocate Sunbeam Pune in your first counselling round, and if you get your higher preferred centre, i.e., ACTS Pune, in the second round of seat allocation, then you must join the higher preferred centre only. A candidate cannot join a lower preferred choice under any circumstances.
5. If you did not allocate any institute during the first and second rounds of the first Cap/Counselling, then you will have to fill in your preferences again during the second Cap/Counselling round, which is the last available counselling round. Therefore, it is crucial to fill in your preferences very carefully during the second round of Cap/Counselling.
